Allah says in the Qur'an (2:152-156):

“Fadhkurunii adhkurukum, washkuru lii walaa takfuruwn* Yaa ayyuhal-ladhiina aamanuu! sta’inu bi swabiri was-swalaah, innallaha ma’aswaabiryn* Walaa taquuluw liman yuqtalu fiy sabilillah amwaatum bal ahyaau, walaqil-laa tash’uruun* Wa lanabluwannakum bishay-in minal khaufi waljuu’i, wa naqswim-minal amwaali wal amfusi wa-th-thamaraat, wabash-shiris-swabiriyn* Alladhyna idhaa aswaabat hum muswyba, qaalu innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji’uun”

Therefore remember Me, I will remember you; and be thankful to Me and do not be ungrateful to Me. O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere. And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not. And We will most certainly try you with somewhat of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to those who are patient. Who, when a misfortune befalls them, say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return.
